LOGO, THANK YOU CARD, AND TEMPORARY TATTOOS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN

This typographic logo was designed for a new ceramic studio in Sacramento, California. The studio was funded by an Indiegogo campaign. As one of the gifts to be delivered to donors, I designed thank you cards and illustrated images of the artist’s well-known mug forms which were turned into temporary tattoos. These items were mailed to contributors and they responded by posting images of themselves wearing the tattoos.

Racial healing lecture series

Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Doane university

This poster and animated GIF were designed for a five-part lecture series and training sessions intended to further develop an understanding of race, racism, and personal actions participants could take now and throughout a lifetime to actively dismantle racism.

Rather than creating a series of posters, an icon system was developed to represent each of the five sessions within a single poster as the series had pivoted to an entirely digital platform.

The visual identity was developed further as an animated gif to be shared and viewed digitally for promotional communications and utilized in zoom sessions as a virtual background.

EARTH SHAKER FOUNDRY AND FORGE

Logo & TOUCHMARK

Earth Shaker specializes in making Newton’s speculum telescope mirrors. As “Earth Shaker” is a nickname for Poseidon, the primary form is a stylized trident. This single, simplified form (seen at right) will also serve as the “touchmark” during production. In the logo, the form is repeated three times with the mirrored form closing the circle to create the disc shape. The forms and colors depict both the dynamic nature of fire, and the speculum alloy of 2/3 copper and 1/3 tin. The type, suggested by the shadows of the letterforms, represents how something new can come from a seemingly destructive process.

This logo was inspired by the company goal to be a part of your “rise to wellness”. The multiple “A” forms represent an abstract mountain range as well as steps and a connection to their slogan, “Ascend the past, Command the present,
Transform the future”.
